Te Tiriti o Waitangi

3 things i'll do in Waitangi. First of all I would ask people who work there to take us around Waitangi like tour guides. Second of all, I would play Maori games and games they used to play or learn Maori dances. Lastly I would try all of the Maori foods that they used make in the old days.

Day 4 - Week 1 (Activity 2): Playing Games

I chose Poi Rakau. Poi Rakau looks fun and easy to play but eventually it gets harder. You have 9 or 8 people playing with you, you have 9 or 8 sticks as well and you stand in the circle with the sticks upright. When the ref calls Maui, you have to run to the left side and try to catch the stick as fast as you can without letting it drop. You can't dig the sticks into the ground and you have to leave the stick upright so it doesn't drop as fast. If everyone gets their stick, you have to take one step back to make it harder. It keeps getting harder until their is one person left or the ref ends it and finishes the game of.

Activity 1: The Waiata - A Song in Your Heart

In the past, Māori would often use song as a way of sharing information or communicating emotions.  A waiata is the name given to a traditional Māori song. One of my all-time favourite waiata is Kia Paimarie. What about you?

Use Google to research traditional Māori Waiata. Listen to a number of Waiata and read the lyrics. On your blog tell us which one of the waiata you found you like the most. Why do you like it? I don't really know that much Waiata's so I just chose E rere taku poi. I like it because we use to sing it in primary and intermediate.

Day 3 - Week 1 (Bonus Activity): Fun Family Facts

I asked my brothers and they said they like to do swimming and doing his summer learning journey. My other brother also said swimming and he liked to play with his siblings. Lastly I asked my other and he said he liked to go to the pools and swim as well.

Day 3: Week 1 (Activity 1) - The more, the Merrier

I'll be happy living with more family members(seven -nine). I have 5 siblings now and its fun playing with them. When you have a big family, you have more people to protect you and look after you. When you have more family members, they have your back and the stick up for you when you get trouble from your parents, teachers or or kids.

Day 2 : Week 1(Bonus Activity) - Special meals

My favourite meal is Butter chicken. Butter chicken has a really yummy taste and it makes you full. I like eating it with rice and naan bread. It really is tasty.

Day 2: Week 1(Activity 2) - The rules of engagement

I want to be an Electrical Engineer if my rugby career doesn't end out well. I couldn't draw it so I found a picture. I want to learn how to fix cables and fix the power, plus you get paid quiet a lot of money as well. 

Day 2 (Week 1) Activity 1 - It's All In A Day's Work

A wharepuni has many similar things and many different things compared to our houses(Present). My house: Door, Roof, Kitchen, Living room, Bathroom, its made out of bricks, steps, window and rooms. Wharepuni: It's made of thatches, wood, it's smaller compared to the houses in the present, it has carvings on the wood. Similar things: It has window's, it has a door, it has a roof over their heads.  ------> 

Activity 2 + Bonus Activity - Week 1: Setting sail, Waka Ama

Dear Friend: It was awesome and scary at the same time. There was a lot of storms during the sail to the new land that we landed on recently, New Zealand. The water was as strong as if the there was a giant playing and splashing in the water. I was in the front of the canoe/waka and I wasn't scared one bit, well maybe. Our food got wet as soon as we got onto the water. so sooner or later, we started fish because we got hungry. We caught lots of fish. We've met lots of nice people who welcomed us into their homes and they even created houses for us. I'd reckon that this is the safest island we've been to other than the other islands. Well, see you later.

I would like to be in a Waka ama race because it looks fun and a very competitive race. I also have my reasons that would stop me from joining this race. reason 1: I dream to play other sports that don't include water. Reason 2: I pretty bad with the water and I can't swim. I'm kind of scared whirlpools as well. So it's kind a of yes and no.

Activity 1 - Week 1: 3 Facts about Maui

Maui punched his nosed so hard that blood came out. Maui used the blood for the bait and threw it out to sea. The hook that he used was the jawbone of a ancestor that Murirangawhenua had given to him. Maui's line sunk down to the bottom of the ocean, down into the depths of Tangaroa and the bait was taken instantly. Maui is the youngest brother but he was only one not afraid when his line caught and the waka started to speed across the ocean. Maui caught a big fish and brought it back to the village. The brothers were very greedy and started to make gullies and mountains from the fishes flesh. When time went on and thousands of years passed, the mountains became the landscape of Aotearoa as we see it present on this day. Maui's fish became known as the north island and Maui's canoe of the south island.

Maths - 10TSp

This week I learned how to do Integers, Factors, Order of Operations, Square roots and Bed mas. I did lots of my work and I achieved my goal by completing my work and get over 500 points but in class I got 24 points which is actually kind of good. I gonna learn some more interesting songs in 2018 and be more dedicated to my work and sports.
