Netbook Reflections

I have learnt Cyber safety, Accessing the class site, Blogging, Keyboard shortcuts,  using google applications like google presentations, creating new folders and documents, using tools, taking screen shots, using Sumo pain. l have learnt to go on my smart digital footprint. I learnt how to learn to type with all my fingers. I learnt how to screenshot my photos. I learnt how to go to the right sites. Keyboard shortcuts,  using google applications like google presentations, creating new folders and documents, using tools, taking screenshots, using Sumo paint.


My friends helped me and always taught me to always go on the good sites only. My friends worked with me and I learned more interesting words. They also helped me when I was stuck and didn't know what to do and they showed me how to get on different sites and how to use the different apps in the google drive.

Outside of school, I learnt that I was able to access my google drive from home and I was able to blog my work in my own time at home and finish off my homework. I have helped other children in my class by showing them what to do when they got stuck and didn't know what to do and they would help me in the same way.

By using the key competencies, I was able to be independent with my own learning and use the google search engine when I didn't know the answer to something.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Manaiakalani Film Festival

On Wednesday Glenbrae School went to the cinemas to watch our class cluster movies. We made our way to the cinema on three buses to go to the Manaiakalani Film Festival.

On the bus, I saw lots of my friends houses on the way because we went the long way around Melbourne circle. I saw heaps of yellow cars driving past the bus. Moses and I played a game, the game was how to make people look at you. I saw a huge river when the bus went over the bridge.

When we got there, I saw three dogs following the bus. My Favorite was our schools short films. I saw room ten’s film and I saw my little brothers cluster and it was funny. Room nine didn't have a short film because our teacher had a broken arm at the time.

When it was time to go back to school, I saw a green bus and it was very flash. When we hopped on the bus we saw heaps of my rugby players especially Patrick.

The film festival was fun because I watched a lot of different short films from our school as well as different schools around auckland.

Walt Reviews Story We Read

The story is about a boy and a girl putting corn seed’s in a big brown bag and put it in the microwave so it can pop. After that, the leftover seeds are used to plant corns in a brown pot. After that, the kids went to measure the corn because the corn was outside, over a week. They grow corns so they can eat the corns. The tassels go into the pollen and the pollen goes to ear of the corn and the silks. Once the silk or the ear of the ear of the corn comes down, it goes to the stalk of the roots of the corn so it can grow faster. The top of the corn is called silk and the thing that is wrapped around, it is called the husk. The kernels or seeds are in the husk and we can eat it when the silks are brown or pink.

Today I practiced my spelling by taking a test online. I went on the website called Spelling City. I took a test and I got 100%. I felt very happy about it and I got a Certificate.

Mighty Muscles

This Article is called Mighty Muscles and I have  a article review.

This article is about Mighty Muscles , the things you need to eat is fish, cheese, eggs, meat and nuts. The best muscle you use all the time is your gluteus maximus and it is the strongest .The softest muscle in your body is your stapedius. When you have a cramp, it happens because your leg or feet  is so tight. It makes you laugh or makes you can’t feel your leg. Bones are good because it pulls your muscles to make it work.When you smile you use 15 muscles and a frown uses 40 muscles and when you are walking you use 200 muscles every step. When you kick a ball the muscles team up and then you kick the ball.

Today I went on study ladder and I read a story called "I like Fruit"

The story is about a girl that she was late for school again and when she went to school with her bike and she fell off the bike, cozmo the family dog was very smart he ran to Harriet's father and told him to come and pick her up from the ground because she can not stand because the bike went on her and she took it of.

Story Review

We are learning to write story reviews about stories that we have read during the week

This story is called "From Corned Beef to Captain Cook" and it is about a boy named Michael Tuffery. He didn't know how to read,  write and spell. When he was eight he didn't know much about his reading, writing and spelling so he had to go to a very special class because he had dyslexia. He went to a class where it is hard for him  to learn and in the book he didn't know how to read the right way round so he would draw instead.

Birthday Visit

This story is about a Birthday visit and its about Jemma's brother who is in prison and it is his Birthday and he did lots of the things that he liked.

The characters in this story are Tim, Mum, Jemma and the guard.

This story takes place in prison.

Jemma and her Mum went to prison in Dunedin because It was her big brothers birthday.

Jemma was scared when they reached the prison because it was dark.

The guard asked Jemma and her mum to wait in line when they had  

given their names to the guard.

Jemma took a card for her brother in the prison.

Jemma was feeling nervous when she walked down the long room to the

Kia ora, I am a year 5 student. My favorite band is Eminem. My favorite sports team is the All Blacks because they are good and win many trophies. My favorite food is butter chicken. My brothers are Loto, Saia, Mason and Bailey. I like writing, reading, maths and inquiry learning.

I am going to turn ten this year and I have lots and lots of friends. I like to sing. I like to watch Wreck it Ralph and Grudge, and Ghost Rider. I like Elvis Presley.
